Biography
I hold a PhD in Psycholinguistics and an MPhil in Applied Linguistics from the University of Cambridge, an MA from the National University of Singapore, and a BA (Hons) from Queen’s University, Canada, alongside an RSA teaching diploma. My career has focused on the management and strategic development of higher education institutions across diverse international contexts.
In North America, I served as Associate Dean (Research) at Western University’s Faculty of Education, overseeing research infrastructure and faculty mentorship, and was the inaugural Academic Director of the University’s Language Centre. In the Middle East, I held the position of Associate Dean at United Arab Emirates University, where I managed seven departments and led international quality assurance processes. I also served there as Chair of the Department of Linguistics.
My work in Asia includes serving as Senior Lecturer at the University of Brunei and Lecturer at the National Institute of Education in Singapore, specializing in applied linguistics and graduate supervision. Most recently, I led a major institutional project in Saudi Arabia as Dean of Faculty at the International Aviation College in Riyadh, part of the Colleges of Excellence system. In this role, I administered a faculty of 2,000 students and managed the successful launch of a new campus.
Throughout my career, I have maintained a consistent research profile in psycholinguistics and language acquisition, publishing in peer-reviewed journals such as Applied Psycholinguistics and the TESOL Encyclopedia. My professional focus remains on developing educational programs and institutional structures that are operationally sound and pedagogically robust.
